A glance at rare diseases research in Switzerland
The aim of this program is to give a first look into the world of research and the academic life, especially in the area of Rare Diseases, Epidemiology, and Health Sciences.
During the morning, you will be introduced to 1) what working at a university and specifically in research entails and 2) what the unique aspects about working in the field of rare disease research are. This will include a presentation of daily tasks such as teaching and supervision of students and team members, working with national and international collaborators, presenting your results to the research community and the public etc.
We will also discuss the challenges and the rewards of choosing an academic research career as a woman and why stronger representation of women is important in this field.
